Learn about the beneficial plants growing in our own backyards! There are many useful medicinal herbs: Dandelions, Creeping Charlie, Plantain broadleaf and violets, to name a few, that volunteer themselves in our yards and gardens and hold a bounty of nutrients as well as therapeutic qualities. We will learn to make a few simple preparations with some of these easy to find and easy to identify plants. Instructor Betsy Nelson, AKA That Food Girl – Culinary Herbalist will demonstrate drying plants for tea, making herb-infused oil and salve and making an ‘oxymel’ with apple cider vinegar. Students will leave with a bottle of oxymel, recipes and herbal information.
