Join Bre Marsel, Registered Dietitian, for the fourth and final talk in our series on nutrition and your family. Did you know the average supermarket carries over 45,000 different food items? It’s no wonder we’re confused regarding what to buy, as soon as we walk through the door. For that reason, a grocery store tour is, by far, one of the best learning experiences you can take advantage of as you adjust your diet and work toward reaching your health goals. Join Bre in this fun and interactive experience. Aisle by aisle, she will help you make the best food choices, show you how to read labels, introduce new ingredients, and pick out healthy on-the-go options. She’ll answer your questions and also provide meal planning and grocery shopping tips.
The Marine General Store will welcome our group during the tour, followed by beverages, snacks and the opportunity to discuss what you’ve learned with other community members, back at the Highway North. Beverage and snacks provided!
We are lucky to have so many talented and knowledgeable people in the St. Croix Valley! Our ‘Knowledge Next Door’ series of talks are given by talented neighbors and take place in downtown Marine on St. Croix, at the Highway North shop (kitty-corner from the Marine General Store). Owner Emily Anderson is providing the space each month as Bre shares her knowledge and insight regarding nutrition. There will be time at the end of each session for questions and the chance to try some healthy foods Bre has prepared. All are welcome although the talks are designed for adults.
General Age Policy:
All classes are for adults (18+) unless otherwise noted.
Be aware we may cancel 5 days before class date if a minimum number of registrations not reached. We work to balance teachers' need to plan for a class with students' busy schedules -- not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
