Knit something beautiful for yourself! We will be making a quick lace cowl – Simple and soft lace cowl, perfect for the transition to Spring! You will learn the skills of knitting lace, learning to knit on circular needles (it’s not as bad as you think it is!), and learning to read patterns and charts.
Necessary skills for the class: Knit, Purl, Cast On, Bind Off. Needing a refresher is okay, but this class is not intended for complete beginners.
Students to bring:
- 70-80 yards of animal- or plant-based yarn, acrylic, or blend Bulky weight yarn that knits up at approximately 3 sts/in *
- 16″ Circular Needles needed to achieve gauge (approx. 10, 10.5, or 11 depending on your personal gauge)
*Instructor recommends a solid, heathered, or subtle colorway for this project. Stripes, variegated colorways, and textured yarn will take away from the appearance of the lace.
*NOTE: 100% cotton or 100% alpaca yarn will give you a more drapey cowl, where as wool or a blend will have more structure
