Locally grown fiber and the skill of dyeing is gaining in popularity all over the place. In this class, you’ll learn how to process plants and flowers from your own gardens to create beautiful hues. Together with instructor Maddy Bartsch, you will walk through the basics of growing dye plants including how to grow, harvest, use and store dye materials in conjunction with regenerative practices that bring more life to you and your garden. Participants will be guided through exercises to determine what plants they want to incorporate and leave feeling ready to add dye plants and regenerative techniques into their garden. All materials will be provided and no experience is necessary. Students will receive handouts and dye seeds to take home.
Please bring a notebook, writing utensil, and an open mind to class.
