“I go to nature to be soothed and healed and have my senses put in order.” –John Burroughs
We are delighted to offer a repeat of this popular class! Shinrin yoku (colloquially known as forest bathing) is a traditional Japanese practice of immersing oneself in nature by mindfully using all five senses. This class is designed for those looking to increase health and well being in their lives by immersing in, and responding to, the beautiful natural world. With Nature as her co-guide, Chris will lead a gentle, short-distance walk in the woods, periodically stopping to invite participants to experience nature using a series of guided requests and encouragement. Breathe, relax, explore, and discover health and wellbeing through a deep nature connection, both within and without.
The session will culminate with a tea ceremony in the woods, helping students to both close the walk and further integrate the experience. Participants will leave the walk grounded, fully present yet more connected to their own emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual well being.
Participants to bring: clothing appropriate to the weather, walking shoes, water bottle
Walk will proceed in all weather, unless dangerous.
