Walk in the woods with the Friendly Forager! Tanna Worrell is the Friendly Forager, and she is inviting all those interested to join her for a walk in her family’s woods, foraging for natural foods. Tanna and her family have been foraging their property for over twenty years, so she knows just where to go for the season’s best plants. This unique opportunity is only being offered through Marine Mills Folk School, giving attendees the chance to learn from one of our area’s most knowledgeable foragers.
Participants should plan on walking in the woods for a minimum of 1 mile over 1.5 hours. The class will also include time to prepare, cook, and eat the gathered plants, using recipes perfected by Tanna.
Participants will leave the class with a handout highlighting the season’s edible and medicinal plants and recipes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase a set of forager information cards with details and pictures about plants commonly found in the St. Croix Valley.
Tanna will also be teaching on the following dates, please join her for all sessions if you can, as different plants will be featured depending upon the month:
- May 30
