Join us to create a gorgeous necklace that will keep your neck warm, at the same time. Wool roving is felted into strands which are formed into a necklace, you’ll leave with a conversation piece that also keeps you warm while you’re at the office or hockey game. The felting of wool has been described as the oldest fiber art, as many ancient cultures, as well as people from across the globe, continue to use the technique for practical clothing as well as in the creation of art. Students will learn how to use this ancient technique to create a modern piece of jewelry. Students are encouraged to see the description of “Felted Wool Art”, a class given by Betsy that same day if they are interested in immersing themselves in a day of wool felting.
