“Tell all the Truth but tell it Slant” –Emily Dickinson
In this workshop we’ll learn, as Emily Dickinson advises, how to slant our observations of the world, to tell the truth, but in a manner more creative than simple recording. We’ll practice memoir pieces using artistic techniques – vivid imagery, scenes, metaphors, dialogue and rhythms of language – to use our distinctive voices to tell our own unique experiences.
Join local memoirist and poet Marge Barrett as she shares her knowledge of writing and creating, while inviting others to share their interest in writing. Marge invites you to come prepared to work on your writing craft, this time focusing on the memoir.
