Emily Vikre

Emily Vikre, PhD is the co-founder and CEO of Vikre Distillery, an award winning craft distillery in Duluth, MN. Also a nationally recognized food and drinks writer, she is the author of Camp Cocktails: Easy, Fun, and Delicious Drinks for the Great Outdoors, published by Quarto Publishing Group and the forthcoming Family Camp Cookbook, coming in spring 2022. She holds a PhD in food policy and behavioral theory from Tufts University. She is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the board of The Lyric Opera of the North and serves on the boards of Friends of the Boundary Waters and The 1200 Fund. When she isn’t at work, you’ll find her hiking, swimming, or cross country skiing along the North Shore of Lake Superior, having raucous sing alongs, playing freeze tag, or making air dry clay sculptures with her husband Joel and two young sons. Their adorable mutt named Squid participates in a lot of the adventures, but not the sing alongs.
