Join instructor Cara Corey in her mission to save money and reduce plastic waste by making your own natural reusable food wraps with fabric and melted beeswax. Choose from a variety of colorful fabrics (or bring your own!) and cut them into different shapes before melting on the beeswax mixture.
You can size them for bowl covers, sandwich wraps and other useful shapes. Add button closures if you like. Once you are done with your wrap, simply wash it with gentle soap and cool water, then let it air-dry to use again and again. These will last and last but when you are ready to switch out to a new wrap, these can be composted or used as a fire starter!
You will take home at least 3 finished wraps, and more if you have time. Plus, learn how to care for the wraps to make them last longer.
Students to bring:
- Optional: Thin, pre-washed cotton material
NOTE: Be aware we may cancel class if a minimum number of registrations is not reached. We work to balance teachers’ need to plan for a class with students’ busy schedules — not an easy task. Please register as early as possible!
