We’re hoping you’ll take a class from MMFS soon. And when you take an in-person class, we hope you’ll use that opportunity to explore our area. Our Visitor Information page outlines the shops, restaurants and parks within Marine, all walking distance from each other. We’re also an easy drive from local hotels and inns and other overnight stay options in Marine, Stillwater, Osceola, and surrounding areas – make a weekend of your class and give yourself a nice break!
Marine Mills Folk School believes everyone should experience the joy of creating! If you are unable to take a class due to financial considerations, or know someone in this situation, we have scholarship funds available. Thanks to a generous grant from the Lee S. and Dorothy N. Whitson Fund, you can receive help to cover some tuition costs. Applying is simple – just email us at info@MarineMillsFolkSchool.org and ask for details.
Marine Mills Folk School is working to build this scholarship program. If you are interested in supporting our scholarship program, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer! Studies show volunteering can help reduce anxiety and increase social connectedness. We’re big believers in the power of community. Join the MMFS community, or another organization, and volunteer! There is a spot for you, no matter how little or how much time you want to invest – your rewards of feeling good, putting a smile on someone’s face, and helping a worthwhile organization will wayyyy exceed the effort you put in.
Here are some things we could use help with (email us at email@example.com for details):
- One time, 2 hour spot on September 11 at Taco Daze in Scandia, handing out info at our table
- One time help at our Welcome Back Event on October 2: set up, clean up or in-between
- Class Day Host – 1 Saturday a quarter, help artists with class set-up, greet attendees, answer questions
